Reinhard Hohlfeld, MD, is Professor of Neurology and the Clinical Neurosciences as well as Director of the Institute for Clinical Neuroimmunology at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. His research goals are directed to a better understanding of the pathogenesis and effective treatment of neuroimmunologic diseases like multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, myositis, and paraneoplastic neuroimmunologic disorders. Professor Hohlfeld’s main research interests focus on autoimmune mechanisms and pathogenesis of neuroimmunological diseases.

The Candy Store has a fascinating collection of automobiles from all eras, and automobilia, all housed in a beautiful building that was built in the 1920s as a Packard dealership, in a convenient Mid-Peninsula location across from a Cal Train Station.

The San Francisco Neurological Society is accredited by the Institute of Medical Quality and the California Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The San Francisco Neurological Society takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.
Designation Statement:
The San Francisco Neurological Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 hour of Category 1 credit toward the California Medical Association's Certification in Continuing Medical Education and the AMA’s Physician Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
Who Should Attend:
Neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, residents and other physicians interested in research and clinical advances in the neurosciences. This is an activity offered by a CMA-accredited provider. Physicians attending this course may report up to 1 hour of Category 1 credit toward the California Medical Association Certificate in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award.
Educational Objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Interpret and critique the current neuroimmunological concepts of the pathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis.
- Evaluate and Interpret treatment claims for Multiple Sclerosis
