Membership Overview

Who are we?

Our organization has been advancing knowledge and improving practice in the neurosciences for 70 years. We bring together the art and science of neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuro-oncology, neuropathology, neuropsychiatry, physiatry, and related fields. We learn from each other about the latest in research and practice, gaining academic and clinical wisdom.

Your membership enables us to continue and expand our unique blend of academic programs and fellowship that benefits all of us. Your renewal also helps keep our member and mailing data base up to date, so that you can be notified about upcoming programs.

What SFNS Offers its Members

The Society is committed to the professional development and continuing medical education of its members and has been since its inception in 1947. Members receive discounts on the Annual Meeting registration and all evening dinner meetings and can obtain AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM throughout the year without ever leaving the Bay Area.

To quote Past President Dr. Eric Denys, "The Society has a long tradition of combining scientific excellence and social interaction with peers, allowing us to share the pleasures and challenges of life. There is absolutely no better forum to meet colleagues, whom you otherwise may know by name only."

Member Benefits Include

  • Member discounts on registration to the Society's 3 day Annual Meeting, including up to 16 HOURS AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.
  • A discount off registration fees to our CME programs spread out in the Greater SF Bay Area throughout the year. Topics and speakers cover a broad range of the most current issues in the neurosciences.
